According to legend, the inhabitants of Labinci went every Sunday on horseback to pick up the pastor in Motovun-Montona to serve Sunday Mass in their church. On the way back to Motovun-Montona, they would in turn sweep the main Motovun square. Throughout history, both places were primarily under the jurisdiction of Motovun-Monton, and then Vižinada. Today, numerous showrooms are gradually springing up in their suburbs, creating a modern industrial zone in which a prestigious culinary school will soon be established.
